In 1968, Prince joined the Holy Spirit Teaching Mission (HSTM), which connected him to three other Charismatic Christian ministers living in Ft. Lauderdale: Don Basham, Bob Mumford, and Charles Simpson.[citation needed] The HSTM had been established by specialist Eldon Purvis; however after the revelation of Purvis' homosexuality the initiative group of the HSTM asked Basham, Mumford, Prince, and Simpson to help in dealing with the crisis.[18] Prince and the others changed the name of the HSTM to Christian Growth Ministries (CGM) in 1972. CGM looked to counter what were viewed as abundances inside the Charismatic Movement by accentuating discipleship and peaceful care which later on was manhandled by those in authority positions. CGM proceeded with the production of the New Wine magazine which started under the HSTM in June 1969. David Moore, creator of The Shepherding Movement, states "Basic for a precise history of the Shepherding Movement is a total accumulation of New Wine. The magazine, distributed from 1969 through 1986, was the main distributing voice of the five educators and the movement."The gathering was joined by Ern Baxter, and the five men wound up plainly known as the Fort Lauderdale Five. Their service ended up plainly known as the Shepherding Movement. Distinctive groups of the development started to underscore accommodation and expert.
